So what types of technology do you think is the most important?

I came up with this question when I started to think about the computer. The first thing I asked myself was, "How big were these room sized computers that everyone talks about?" And so I was curious and found a picture. The computer was huugeeeee back then. I couldnt have imagined what people had to go through to do a specific operation on it. Well back to the question, I believe computers are the most important. You can do anything on a computer.Theres really nothing a computer cant do. What do you guys think?

  1. Looks like one of today's server rooms. That is really ridiculous though. Those mainframe computers were really something. Imagine if everyone had one of these in their homes instead of PC's. Would be a really fun and daunting task to try to get on facebook with that. Its a good thing stuff keeps getting smaller and smaller though, because everyone would have to have a special room in their house just for one of these. Computers are now extremely user friendly too, with all the GUI based applications that just about everyone can use. Eliminating the need for everyone to have like a PH.D in Computers just to use one.

  2. Computer technology is my favorite. A computer is a powerful tool and a fun toy. Instant information and worldwide communication is at your fingertips. I enjoy computers so much that my major at CCC is Computer Systems Technology (CST). I think computers are fascinating, fun, and empowering.

My computer is connected to many things. It is connected to my television, which is connected to my X-box 360 and my stereo system. So, I can download multimedia content from the Web, and stream it into my living room and watch movies on my TV in stereo, or send the music library I have on my computer to my stereo system in my living room. Cell phones, and a digital camera can also be connected to my computer.

I have a 500GB hard drive, and a 1TB eternal hard drive for back up. I have a scanner/copier/fax all in one machine, a web camera, high speed cable modem, and my landline service provider is Vonage, which supplied me with a router, and this is connected to my computer as well. Vonage saves me a lot of money compared to what I used to pay.

I bank online, pay taxes online, register or re-register my cars online, shop online, and more. It is all very convenient.

  3. Well I am amazed with the Mac computer systems. I work on Mac final cut pro editting system and it is a great editing tool for what I need it for. I am happy to put together a film in less time than with doing it on a 6 or 8 plate editing system that is manual labor for real. I hate that, but since the computer, that has up the game and that is great for me.
